Privacy Policy
Africa EV Mobility Expo Kenya 2026 · MIE Events FZCO (MIE Groups)
Template notice — for legal review. This privacy policy is a new, clean template written while rebuilding the EVS Kenya website. It deliberately replaces the previous page, which had been copied from a different event. Before publication the organiser's legal team must review and complete it, add the company's registered address and data-protection contact, and confirm which registration, analytics and marketing tools are actually in use.
1. Introduction
The Africa EV Mobility Expo Kenya 2026 is organised by MIE Events FZCO, part of MIE Groups (we, us or our). This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit evs-kenya.com, register to attend, book a stand, submit a speaker proposal, subscribe to event updates or contact our team.
The event takes place 9-11 December 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi, Kenya.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that you give us, and information generated when you use our website or register for the event:
- Contact and business details — name, job title, company, country, email address, telephone number, and the products or markets you are interested in.
- Registration and badge data — the registration type you choose (exhibitor, visitor, speaker or partner) and the information needed to issue your badge and manage your attendance.
- Exhibitor and partner information — stand requirements, company profile, logo and marketing materials, and billing or invoicing details.
- Speaker information — biography, photograph, proposed topic and session materials.
- Correspondence — the content of enquiries you send us by email, telephone or through the website.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the site you arrived from, collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Policy.
3. How we use your information
- To process registrations, issue badges and manage access to the exhibition and conference.
- To allocate stands and administer exhibitor and partner packages, invoices and payments.
- To build and publish the conference programme and speaker line-up.
- To answer your enquiries and support you before, during and after the show.
- To run B2B matchmaking and, where you have opted in, to connect exhibitors with relevant visitors and buyers.
- To send event information and updates about the Africa EV Mobility Expo Kenya and other MIE Group events, always with an easy way to unsubscribe from marketing.
- To understand how the website is used and to improve its content and performance.
- To keep the event and our systems secure, prevent fraud and enforce our terms.
- To meet legal, tax, accounting and health-and-safety obligations.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- your consent — for marketing emails and for sharing your details with partners or sponsors;
- performance of a contract — to provide registration, stand space or other services you have requested;
- our legitimate interests — to run and promote the exhibition, improve our services, and prevent fraud and abuse;
- legal obligations — for tax, accounting, safety and regulatory requirements.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the services you have already received.
5. Sharing your information
We share personal information only with:
- service providers who help us run the event, such as our online registration platform (MeetBy, reg.meetby.net), badge printing, website hosting, email and payment providers;
- the venue, contractors and official suppliers who need the information to deliver the event;
- other companies in the MIE Group;
- partners, sponsors or media partners, but only where you have opted in, or where the information is aggregated;
- professional advisers, and public authorities or law enforcement where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
MIE Group companies and service providers operate in several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Kenya and others. Your information may therefore be transferred to, stored in, or processed in a country other than your own. Where we transfer personal information internationally we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as contractual protections.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy — normally for the event cycle and a reasonable period afterwards for reporting, accounting and legal reasons — and then delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need;
- restrict or object to how we use your information, including for direct marketing;
- receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at pinkesh.vaishnav@mieevents.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority — for example the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, or your national supervisory authority in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, to remember your preferences and, where permitted, to measure how the site is used. See our Cookies Policy for details and for how to manage or disable cookies.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections, access controls and staff confidentiality obligations — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the relevant authorities if a breach affecting your rights occurs.
11. Children's privacy
The exhibition and this website are intended for business professionals and are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, including registration and partner platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please read their policies before providing personal information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example if the tools we use change. The current version will always be published on this page.
14. Contact us
For any question about this policy or about how we handle your personal information, contact MIE Events FZCO by email at pinkesh.vaishnav@mieevents.com, or reach the event team through the Contact Us page.
